Shaolin Worldwide ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect on www.shaolinww.com (the "Site"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We treat your data the way we teach training: with discipline and care.

1. Information we collect

Orders and account

When you buy from us we collect your name, email, phone number, billing and shipping address, and order details. Payments are processed securely by Shopify and its payment providers; we never see or store your full card number.

Training applications

When you apply for a retreat, camp or school enrollment, we collect the information in your application: your name, contact details, nationality, preferred dates, experience level, and where relevant, health information you choose to share such as injuries, medical conditions and dietary needs. We collect this only to arrange safe, suitable training for you.

Marketing and communication

If you sign up for our newsletter, download a free ebook, or message us (email, WhatsApp, social media), we collect your contact details and the content of your messages.

Device and usage data

Like most websites, we automatically collect device and usage information (browser, IP address, pages viewed, cookies) to run the Site, prevent fraud and understand how it is used.

2. How we use your information

  • To process orders, deliver digital products, and provide customer support.
  • To process training applications and organize your enrollment, travel guidance and arrival.
  • To send you order updates, and, if you opt in, our newsletter and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • To improve the Site, our courses and our programs.
  • To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with parties who help us serve you:

  • Shopify, which hosts our store and processes payments (Shopify privacy policy).
  • Partner martial arts schools. When you enroll in a school or retreat, we pass the school the details it needs to receive you: your name, contact information, dates, experience level, and the health and dietary information you provided. This is essential to arranging your training.
  • Service providers such as our email marketing platform (Klaviyo), shipping carriers, print on demand partners, form and messaging tools (for example Google Forms and WhatsApp), and analytics providers, each only for the purpose of doing their job for us.
  • Authorities, if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

4. Cookies and advertising

We use cookies for essential Site functions (cart, checkout, login), analytics, and advertising. Our pages may include embedded content such as YouTube videos, which can set their own cookies. You can control cookies in your browser settings (see allaboutcookies.org) and opt out of personalized ads via Facebook, Google, and the Digital Advertising Alliance.

5. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can opt out of marketing at any time. Email support@shaolinww.com and we will respond promptly.

  • EU / EEA and UK residents (GDPR): we process your data on the basis of contract, consent, legal obligation and legitimate interest. Data is processed on Shopify's infrastructure and may be transferred internationally under GDPR compliant safeguards. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
  • California residents (CCPA): you have the right to know, delete and correct. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA, including information about minors.

6. Retention and security

We keep order records for as long as needed for our accounting and legal obligations, and application information for as long as needed to manage your enrollment, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. We use industry standard safeguards, and health information you share is accessed only by the people who need it to arrange your training.

7. Minors

The Site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online. Enrollment of minors in training programs is arranged with and through a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time; the current version always lives on this page with its "Last updated" date.
